M-45i - Corrections Workbook
Corrections Committees

The purpose of a corrections committee is to coordinate the work of individual A.A. members and groups who are interested in carrying our message of recovery to alcoholics behind the walls, and to set up means of smoothing the way from the facility to the larger A.A. community through prerelease contacts. These resources contain A.A. shared experience in Corrections Twelve Step work.  Local general service committees and local intergroup/central office committees may have further experience to share.

The A.A. Group Handbook for Groups That Meet in Correctional Facilities" (CF-36) was developed to be sent directly from G.S.O. to A.A. Groups that meet in correctional facilities but may have little or no contact with outside A.A. It is similar to, but not identical to, contents of The Group Handbook (M-36) that is sent to new A.A. groups on the outside. However, CF-36 cannot be ordered from G.S.O. In April of 2008 the Conference Committee on Corrections requested that it be made electronically available to A.A. members who take meetings into correctional facilities.
